Is there toilets on board?

No, sorry. there are not toilets on board so please use a rest room before you board. There are public toilets nearby before departing. Trips are only 1.5 hours long.

Bringing home the Catch

Can I take the 'Catch' home?

Unfortunately, due to our commercial license we cannot keep any catch from the pots whilst passengers are on board. Our aim is to give you a fun filled insight into our world and a look at the local wildlife. If you would like to purchase a Crab or Lobster we can arrange it through our other fishmonger business. Ask for details.

Can I Help pull in the pots?

We use a line hauler to pull in our pots which can be dangerous so the skipper will haul in the Pots. The skipper will allow you to get hands on in certain parts of the process and gloves will be provided for anyone willing to have a go!! You can try your hand at throwing the hook and if weather permits, try pulling a pot up by hand!

Durdle Door

Can I handle the catch?

Yes, Absolutely! As soon as the skipper has made it safe to handle they will tell you how best to hold them before being released back into the sea.

What am I likely to see?

Our skippers will try to get you to see as many species as possible. Crabs, lobsters & small fish are most likely but we have been known to have Prawns, eels and Cuttlefish too! If you are very lucky you may even spot the resident Dolphins and seals!!

Is there disable access?

Not currently but it is something we are working towards. As Drifter is a commercial fishing vessel, our trips may not be suitable for everyone due to access, but we will do everything possible to accommodate everyone. There are steps to ease boarding.
